Beneficial AGI Summit 2024 & BGI Challenge

The Beneficial AGI Summit and Unconference 2024 is less than a month away, and the speakers, agenda, and participants are all preparing for an event like no other. This event is everyone’s opportunity to understand and shape the future of AGI which will create a positive future for us all.

Supervisory Council Community Workshops

In January, our Supervisory Council launched a collaborative workshop series named “Designing the Blueprint for SingularityNET Decentralization” to start working together on Decentralizing SingularityNET. These workshops were a chance for our community members to join the conversation about the Decentralization Blueprint and work together on achieving our goal of decentralized community governance.

• Workshop 1, facilitated by Xhoni Shollaj, discussed “Building a Decentralized Future: Collaborative Innovation.”
• Workshop 2, facilitated by Daniel Ospina, explored “Hands-on Collaboration in Shaping Decentralization.”
• Workshop 3, facilitated by Grace Rachmany, delved into “Hands-on Collaboration in Shaping Decentralization.” (recording coming soon)

Deep Funding Test Round

To prepare for the launch of Deep Funding Round 4, we announced a pilot round for our new platform. This round features a limited number of proposals and a shorter lead time than usual but with real voting and $150k in rewards. Voting opens soon, so stay tuned for updates!

Mindplex

Mindplex is a magazine and a social media platform providing a dynamic space for creators, influencers, and media enthusiasts to connect and collaborate.

• To celebrate the launch of Mindplex Social, the Mindplex team launched a new writing competition, “Decentralizing Social World.” Be sure to submit your article before February 10th.

Against the backdrop of an eventful year in the AI field, CEO Dr. Ben Goertzel has formally received the AGI Pioneer Award, a prestigious honor recognizing his breakthroughs in Artificial General Intelligence R&D and humanoid robotics technologies.

During the Interstellar Soiree held on January 11th in Las Vegas, Nevada, Dr. Goertzel was cited for his work on the OpenCog Hyperon AGI framework and his leadership role in furthering the collective dialogue on the responsible development and safe adoption of AI and AGI technologies.

Dr. Goertzel took the stage to explore the recent advancements in AI, specifically large language models and computational power, and discuss how to guide the evolution of AI toward AGI systems that are both highly capable and beneficial to humanity and other sentient beings.

To realize this vision, he called for open and democratic governance of emerging AGI through inclusive planning, open standards, and interoperability between all AI actors.
