We released the OpenCog Hyperon Alpha, announced the results of the Artificial Superintelligence (ASI) Alliance governance vote, launched Round 4 of our Deep Funding program, and were honored to receive the Best Crypto AI Project Award at the Blockchain Life Awards 2024.

Artificial Superintelligence Alliance Governance Vote

As part of the formation of the ASI Alliance, AGIX token holders were invited to make their voices heard about our multi-billion token merger with decentralized AI industry leaders Fetch.ai and Ocean Protocol from April 4th, 2024, to April 16th, 2024.

The ASI Alliance proposal prompted thoughtful discussions and debates within the SingularityNET community. These conversations demonstrated a healthy exchange of ideas and perspectives regarding the optimal path for decentralized AI development, and we thank our community for engaging in respectful and constructive debates.

Once the voting period closed, a supermajority of AGIX — Soon to become ASI — token voters had approved the ASI Alliance proposal. This historic decision marked the formation of the largest open-source, decentralized network dedicated to accelerating the development of decentralized AGI and, shortly after, ASI.

In the spirit of transparency, we published a report presenting an analysis of the voting process, examining factors such as voter turnout and vote distribution, simulating different scenarios, and highlighting the measures implemented to ensure the integrity of the results.

SingularityNET Wins the Best Crypto AI Project Award 2024

We were honored to receive the Best Crypto AI Project Award at the Blockchain Life Awards 2024. This recognition highlights our contributions to the advancement of decentralized AI technologies.

We are grateful to our dedicated team and the wider SingularityNET community for their unwavering support in pursuing our shared vision — creating decentralized, democratic, inclusive, and beneficial AGI and, shortly after, ASI.

Deep Funding Round 4: More Than $1.5M in Grants

As part of our ongoing commitment to advancing the field of decentralized AI, we were pleased to announce the launch of Deep Funding Round 4 (DFR4). This initiative is designed to support a wide range of projects that seek to innovate and enhance the capabilities of SingularityNET’s decentralized AI platform.

Through DFR4, we aim to continue our mission of democratizing AI development by empowering creators and technologists worldwide to bring their visionary ideas to life.

With a total of $1,520,000 allocated across various strategic pools, DFR4 is designed to cater to an expansive array of AI projects:

• New Projects pool: Focused on developing innovative AI services that enhance the marketplace’s capabilities and utilization of its available services;
• Ideation pool: Supports the early stages of concept development, providing the foundation for future proposals;
• Marketing Initiatives pool: Aims to boost platform visibility and user engagement.
• Miscellaneous pool: Welcomes unique projects that don’t fit conventional categories but have potential for significant impact;
• Community-Driven RFPs pool: Facilitates targeted project proposals defined by predefined requests, enhancing focused collaboration and development;
• RFP Design pool: Supports the development of high-quality specification documents for desired solutions, encouraging detailed project planning and community selection of the most promising proposals.

SingularityNET’s Technical Tuesdays: OpenCog Hyperon Alpha Release

The ‘SingularityNET’s Technical Tuesdays’ series explores the OpenCog Hyperon framework for AGI and beyond and highlights how we are working to translate our AGI R&D ideas into advanced systems ready to deal with real-world use cases.

On April 23, 2024, we invited AI developers and those interested in the technical aspects of AGI R&D to join us for the third session of the series “LLMs and AGI: OpenCog Hyperon’s Neural Space” to discuss why the incremental improvement of modern Large Language Models (LLMs) is not a viable approach to achieving human-level AGI, the role of LLMs in AGI R&D and integrating LLMs into OpenCog Hyperon.

On April 30th, 2024, we held a special ‘Technical Tuesdays’ session dedicated to the Alpha release of OpenCog Hyperon. This release introduces foundational components, including the MeTTa (Meta Type Talk) language interpreter and the Distributed Atomspace (DAS).

A panel of SingularityNET experts, composed of CEO Dr. Ben Goertzel, Chief AGI Officer Dr. Alexey Potapov, and CSO Dr. Matt Ikle, delved into MeTTa’s capabilities. They highlighted the novel language’s capacity to facilitate introspective and self-modifying programs — essential for the recursive self-improvement often associated with AGI. MeTTa’s flexibility sets it apart, supporting neural-symbolic reasoning and even handling uncertainties through probabilistic logical reasoning.

Dr. Potapov emphasized that while MeTTa takes inspiration from OpenCog Classic’s Atomese, it has evolved into a distinct language for cognitive computations with unique properties. Unlike conventional programming languages, MeTTa embraces very different AI strategies. It is designed to serve two purposes: allowing humans to script portions of AGI cognitive processes, and enabling AGI-related learning and reasoning algorithms to engage in their own programming activities.

Ambassador Program

During April, we expanded our Core Contributor group from 31 to 41 members and streamlined the process for quarterly budget approvals.

Budget requests have been submitted for the formation of new workgroups. Notable proposals include those submitted by the ‘LATAM Ambassadors’ and the ‘Africa Ambassadors’ guilds to increase geographical representation.

An AI Ethics workgroup is forming to support the Global Ethics initiative launched during the Beneficial AGI Summit in Panama.

These new workgroups will complement our ongoing efforts in education, video production, content creation, translation, archiving, treasury management, R&D, onboarding, and governance.

XR Agency and iCog Labs Unveiled the Future of AGI with Dr. Ben Goertzel and Desta the Robot

Our long-standing partnership with iCog Labs, Ethiopia’s premier AI development lab, empowers young children in rural areas and helps close the digital literacy gap. We achieve this by introducing coding education, impact-focused workshops, summer camps, and academy programs.

These initiatives have fostered digital inclusion, rural education, and economic development across Africa. iCog Labs’ expertise also drives some of our advanced AI services, utilized within our decentralized AI Platform and throughout our ecosystem.

We were proud to expand our collaboration in April, joining forces with XR Agency to advance Africa’s position in AI and AGI innovation. This initiative will also showcase Ethiopia’s readiness, capabilities, and determination in the field of AI to the world, inspiring the next generation of AI pioneers.

Rejuve Biotech Crowd Sale**

Rejuve Biotech focuses on identifying new targets and pathways for therapies that could mitigate age-related diseases like Alzheimer’s, cardiovascular disease, and cancer through advanced AI, cross-organism insights, and cutting-edge multi-omics research.

• Rejuve.Bio raised over $250,000 on the NetCapital platform, bringing them a step closer to treating aging-related diseases and extending human health span to new levels.

Twin Protocol

Twin Protocol enables you to create a digital version of yourself to capture your unique skills, knowledge, and personality that you can share with others through a tokenized marketplace.

• Twin Protocol unveiled the first phase of a multi-tiered rollout of its breakthrough AI twin platform;
• Twin Protocol announced a launch partnership with Hourglass, a decentralized community built around the self-reliance, creativity, camaraderie, and patience principles.

NuNet

NuNet is building a globally decentralized computing framework, individually rewarded via a tokenomic ecosystem based on NuNet Utility Token (NTX).

• The NuNet team unveiled their new website, offering fresh content, seamless navigation, and enhanced features;
• NuNet shared their Q1 update which delves into the milestones achieved, challenges encountered, and the exciting path that lies ahead in their technical roadmap;
• The NuNet team announced that the newest updates to their Device Management Service (DMS) and Service Provider Dashboard (SPD) are public and ready to be tested by the community.

SingularityDAO

• Cogito has finalized the last service provider phase and has now moved to the end-to-end user testing, preparing for the launch of TFUND, its tokenized U.S. T-Bill fund;

• SophiaVerse’s inaugural Closed Play Test is now available for download and play to all holders with Density Module 2 and higher;
• The official gameplay trailer for Sentience AI Lab (SAIL) went live, offering a glimpse into the cutting-edge world of AI.

HyperCycle

HyperCycle is building an essential component that enables AI Machines to transact with other AI machines in a sub-second finality, resulting in unprecedented emergence.

• The HyperCycle team launched their first Tech Updates series. This series focuses on presenting factual product developments, vetted by the engineers from their Tech Department;
• HyperCycle CEO Toufi Saliba joined Ayman Mufleh on his YouTube channel for an AMA session to discuss the recent technical developments and explore the future of decentralized AI on the HyperCycle Layer 0++ blockchain.

CEO Dr. Ben Goertzel took the DWF Labs Stage at TOKEN2049 Dubai today to discuss the path to decentralized superintelligence.

During his address, Dr. Goertzel explained how the Artificial Superintelligence (ASI) Alliance, comprising SingularityNET, Ocean Protocol, and Fetch.ai, will accelerate the development of generally intelligent systems.

He also highlighted the proven track record of these three decentralized AI industry leaders in developing practical decentralized AI applications and the necessary infrastructure to lead the world into a new era of beneficial decentralized AGI and ASI.

Web Summit Rio 2024

SingularityNET participated in Web Summit Rio 2024, contributing expertise to discussions surrounding the advancement of AI. Our Chief AGI Officer, Dr. Alexey Potapov, and Hyperon Project Manager, Vita Potaova, represented SingularityNET in various capacities.

Dr. Potapov began by participating in a press conference on April 16th, exploring the future of AI. He was joined by Sabrina Palme, Co-founder and CEO of Palqee, and Xavier Anguera, Co-founder and CTO of Elsa.

That same day, Dr. Potapov and Vita Potaova participated in a panel discussion exploring the implications of a post-AGI world alongside Rafael Coimbra, Executive Editor of MIT Technology Review BR, and Mohannad El-Barachi, CEO of Wrk.

On April 18th, Dr. Potapov and Vita Potaova concluded their participation with a Q&A session. The session focused on AI, robotics, and the potential impact of AGI, providing an opportunity for direct engagement with the Web Summit audience.

Future Hospitality Summit 2024

As the hospitality industry embraces technological integration, the Future Hospitality Summit in Riyadh hosted pivotal discussions on how AI, IT, and the human touch are coming together to redefine guest experiences.

On the second day of the Summit, COO Janet Adams took the Future Stage for a panel discussion exploring the critical role of technology in enhancing hospitality services and creating memorable interactions for guests. Janet was joined by Nicolas Nasra, Head of Hotel Advisory, Hospitality & Tourism at Colliers MENA, Henry Coutinho-Mason, Author, Speaker, and Co-founder of 3Space, and Tatiana Labaki, Head of Hotels and Tourism Advisory — PSU at TONOMUS.

Later that day, Janet was joined by Desdemona Robot and Ali Shahid, Generative AI Evangelist and Marketing Director at The Bench on the Exhibition Stage for an insightful fireside chat exploring the intersection of AI and hospitality and AI in the creative arts.

ETHDubai Conference

CEO Dr. Ben Goertzel joined Danielle Tichner, CEO of Founder W-SOURCE LTD, Jiahao Sun, Founder of Flock.io, and Tom Howard, writer at Network0, on the ETHDubai stage to explore the past, present, and future of decentralized AI.

Dr. Goertzel shared his experiences dating back to the 1990s when he first envisioned the potential of AI running in a decentralized manner.

While explaining how past limitations in speed and cost hindered progress, he highlighted that the advent of blockchain (Ethereum in particular) enabled the development of decentralized platforms like SingularityNET.

Dr. Goertzel also emphasized that decentralized AI ecosystems, fueled by open-source development and blockchain-based deployment systems, have the potential to surpass centralized tech firms in the coming years.

Narrative Fest

The Narrative Fest gathered leading figures from the blockchain industry to explore the most compelling and impactful narratives that will define the next era of crypto innovation.

During the event, CEO Dr. Ben Goertzel sat down with the CEO of Ocean Protocol, Bruce Pon, and Eljaboom to discuss the formation of the Artificial Superintelligence Alliance and the future of decentralized AI.

The Narrative Fest also facilitated networking opportunities with the SingularityDAO team and their new partners, Sekuya and The Game Company.

AI Day

We had the pleasure of attending AI Day at the Pontifical Oriental Institute in Rome, Italy to discuss the Church’s leadership in AI and explore how AI can serve the Church’s mission in areas such as education and administrative efficiency.

During the Conference, speakers discussed the ethical implications of AI, arguing that AI should be developed and used in a way that respects human dignity and promotes the Catholic Church’s values of justice and solidarity. They also highlighted how the Church can play a role in facilitating a conversation to help mitigate the downside of emerging technology.

A highlight of the Conference was the surprise appearance of Desdemona Robot from our ecosystem project Yaya Labs, who captivated the audience with her ability to answer questions and interact fluently in English, German, and Chinese.
