NuNet Purpose and Goals
NuNet is building a decentralized computing network on a global scale. This network will let anyone share and monetize their spare computing resources. The compute platform will provide globally distributed and optimized computing resources for decentralized networks — including the SingularityNET platform, marketplace and ecosystem.
NuNet’s decentralized computing is vital to the future we are building at SingularityNET. NuNet is the counterbalance to large infrastructure providers who dominate the technology infrastructure stack by locking users into their computing and data silos. Those same large infrastructure providers are cost prohibitive to individuals, researchers and small businesses, who cannot afford computing resources needed to develop and apply new technologies — further widening the gap between the big players and everybody else.
NuNet is the decentralized compute layer for the creation of a truly decentralized technology infrastructure stack, creating equal and open compute resources, which is vital to researching and building decentralized AI, blockchains, software, and the decentralized global brain.
NuNet Right Now
NuNet is growing! After a highly successful token launch in November, the core team, which has worked on NuNet platform for two years during its incubation period, is expanding to become a fully staffed standalone project. In order to build its community developer program quickly, special focus has been placed on bringing in community managers, community advisors and partners for this endeavor.
The platform is currently in private Alpha version, and has already generated wide interest and support from our amazing community. Many of our private Alpha volunteer have been running test compute spaces for months. This alpha phase has taught NuNet a lot already, and the team is excited to bring that learning into the platform in preparation for the public alpha release.
NuNet platform is currently testing a decentralized node solution for Cardano Stake Pool operators; this includes a proposal for Catalyst funding to move this initiative forward. This will be a profound way of deepening the partnership between SingularityNET, NuNet, and Cardano. Decentralized nodes and stake pools, running on the NuNet platform, will offer stake pool operators an opportunity to greatly enhance the decentralization of the whole Cardano blockchain.

NuNet Achievements Since the Roadmap Update
The first big achievement was the platform release of the NuNet private alpha version on September 8th. This release was very successful, with eager community members jumping into the system and onboarding their machines, providing quality platform feedback to the team. The MVP (minimum viable product) testnet was released running a showcase application through the SingulairityNET’s marketplace — a browser extension for fake news warning based on AI Services.
Following the private alpha release, NuNet’s next milestone was their incredibly successful Nunet utility token launch. The token launch marked the spin-off’s graduation from incubation phase into a standalone project. Following highly successful private, community, and public funding rounds, the token generation event took place on November 26th. This launch marked a triumph for the project, and for the growing SingularityNET ecosystem.
The community funding round, in particular, was record-breaking — raising $2 million dollars in under 90 seconds, via the new SingularityDAO launchpad. The overwhelming support of the whole community for this innovative and groundbreaking endeavor has been humbling and inspiring. In order to give back to the community, the details of the airdrop of NTX tokens have just been released. NuNet is excited to be contributing to this visionary community and ecosystem.
NuNet Next Steps
Right now, NuNet is particularly focused on creating its community developer program, to harness all of the community enthusiasm for the project, and to facilitate the next phase of growth — compatible projects and developers are the rocket fuel that will drive massive growth for NuNet platform. Now that the launch phase is over, and the private alpha MVP has been released, NuNet is also bringing focus back to the original priority — integration with the SNET marketplace.
The foundational purpose of NuNet is to be an optimal space for future SNET platform AI processes to run on. Making this a general functionality for a wide range of AIs, APIs, processes, and data sets to run on is a challenge NuNet has been aimed at solving since the beginning. The team is excited to return to this critical branch of development, and continue progress toward this functionality.
Additionally, the public alpha version of the NuNet platform is being prepared for release during the first half of next year. So it’s a very exciting and very busy time in NuNet!

NuNet is heading into a big growth phase for the platform — the community’s support in all of these areas is incredibly valuable. NuNet is here to bring about a new paradigm, the decentralization of the global brain. This requires participation from all sides of the compute marketplace, and development to connect them all. This is where the community comes in — to provide compute resources, to use services, and to participate with platform feedback and development cycles.
